This will be a very special weekend of chanting, mantra, sound healing, and mindfulness.
Nada Yoga is the yoga of sound. No musical experience necessary. You don’t have to sing well because it’s not about singing. You don’t have to say the words right, because it is about feeling. You don’t have to know how to play an instrument but you might end up playing some! This weekend is about feeling good, experimenting with sound and allowing the happiness hormones that comes from using your voice to work their magic.
100% no judgement zone with friendly and like-minded souls. As a group we will come together, our voices finding each other until our focus becomes unified.
Chanting helps to balance the nervous system and to normalize hormone production which can balance our mood, help one recover from stress and support our overall well-being. It is also a form of meditation. You simply breathe, produce sound, listen to others, and settle into the rhythmic patterns and surrender. Chanting can also be done silently.
What to expect over the weekend:
Expect to feel great, make new friends and experience something wonderful! Activities also include:
-
daily asana
-
tai chi
-
meditation
-
mala making
-
learning instruments
-
forest bathing in clean fresh spring water
-
communal dining
-
evening kirtan and mantra story telling
And if you don’t want to participate in any activities, feel free to rest and enjoy the scenery and tranquility. Hopefully the weather will cooperate for starry night viewing, sacred fire circles and perfect camping temperatures. Chant camp will be offered in rain or shine with no refunds.
A large pond filled with lotus flowers will be in full bloom this time of year! Just this alone will be a magical and rare sight to practice and meditate. There are refrigerators and BBQ grills. Feel free to bring potluck vegetarian food or snacks to share with the group as well! If you have special dietary needs, please bring your own food. Coffee & Assorted teas and other beverages will be available at the house.
This weekend is in conjunction with Linda Go and Yoga for Recovery.
